Circles: Helping Fight Poverty

Circles: Fighting Poverty

Circles Washtenaw County is the topic at our Wednesday Dessert presentation on March 31. If you care about people who are struggling to make ends meet but don’t quite know how to help, then consider Circles. A number of Westminster members are looking at the PC (USA) Matthew 25 Initiative addressing systemic poverty. Circles meshes perfectly with that goal.

Circles is based on the premise that meaningful relationships across socio-economic lines can dramatically impact the effort to move families out of poverty. The Circles program matches a person in poverty with at least two middle or upper income partners. The goal is to break the cycle of generational poverty by creating connections with people committed to making real change in our community.

The program offers many meaningful ways to volunteer, from providing a meal or helping in the children’s program, to becoming an Ally, walking alongside someone in their journey out of poverty. Learn more here.

Join Circles Program Coordinator Suzanne Van Dam during our Wednesday Dessert on March 31 to discover powerful ways to put your faith into action. The Zoom link will be sent via email that morning to Westminster update subscribers.
