We welcome all to attend our worship services, Sundays at 11 am. Services last one hour; hymns, prayers, Bible readings and a sermon give time and space for individual and corporate worship, for contemplation and growing in faith. All ages are welcome in worship. Our PRAYground at the front of the sanctuary provides quiet activities to help children engage in worship in age-appropriate ways. Nursery care is also available for the youngest among us. Dress ranges from Sunday best to casual; please come as you are. Ushers are happy to provide you with a large print bulletin and hymnal or a wireless unit for hearing assistance.
Our Sunday worship follows a traditional Presbyterian pattern of gathering as God’s people, listening for God’s word, responding to that word, and departing to serve our neighbors. Repetition in our order of worship helps shape the ways we understand and serve God, while creativity within that framework keeps our minds and hearts fresh and engaged.
Sunday sermons help us consider everyday life and challenges in light of scripture. We are encouraged to put into practice Jesus’ teaching to love our neighbor, and to replace fears, prejudices and preconceived ideas with openness, kindness and generosity.
Children of all ages are welcome in worship, either in the pew with caregivers or in the PRAYground at the front of the worship space. The PRAYground is equipped with quiet activities and age-appropriate worship materials. Parents and caregivers may choose to sit in a nearby pew or on the floor with children. Nursery care is available for infants through 4-year-olds, 10:45 am–12:15 pm.
Our choir rehearses weekly, to help lead us in worship, to present anthems each week as well as to perform larger choral and instrumental compositions. Our bell choir plays periodically in worship, rehearsing as needed. We welcome your participation. To learn more, please contact Director of Music Shawn McDonald.
Two adult classes meet regularly on Sundays at 9:30 am: a Bible study group, and a group discussing relevant books and other topics of interest. Sunday school classes for elementary students through teenagers also take place Sundays at 9:30 am.
At the corner of Scio Church Road and Greenview Drive, Westminster is easily accessible by car or by bus. Park in the main lot or the smaller lot to the west of the building, or on Greenview. Handicapped parking is available in both lots.
Westminster Presbyterian Church receives virtually all of its financial support through donations. A free-will offering is received each Sunday during the service. Those who have made annual pledges fulfill that commitment in several ways: by check or cash on Sunday mornings, by mail, or by giving online.
Greeters at the front door will welcome you and help you find your way around.
